Cyrus Alva 

October 16, 1993 - May 30, 2013

Cyrus, hugging his mother with love and the biggest of smiles.

Cyrus Alva, 19, of Lakewood California, went home to be with the Lord, on Thursday, May 30, 2013. A native of Moodubelle (Udupi Taluk, Karnataka State, India) he was a son of Henry and Shakila Alva. Cyrus was the light of his family’s lives that went out too early. He was loved by his family and friends very much.

Cyrus was born in Kuwait on October 16, 1993. He was brother to two siblings, that grew up alongside him in every city of every country, and played together until the end. He was a joy to be around, because he made everyone laugh. The word "gentle" could not begin to describe his funny character and the fact that he was always ready and willing to help anyone, and everyone. His big heart and compassion drew everyone close to him, and no one could help but fall in love with his smile and easy going personality.

He was amazing at electronics, and computers. He attended college, studying Engineering, and would be the mechanic of the house. He absolutely loved fried chicken, and burgers, and food in general. He loved learning about the universe, astronomy and would spend hours perfecting his skateboarding and soccer skills.   He slept every night in the company of his dog "Nanna" whom he loved very much.

All smiles, always, with the best loving father anyone could have.

When he was in the hospital once, a friend of his brought him Hot Cheetos (which is one of his top ten foods of all time). The doctor had said that he wasn't allowed to eat anything spicy. He said "Don't worry, I can handle it. I'm INDIAN!"

Sibling love. We can all agree that he has the most beautiful smile of all of us. Lucky, handsome guy.

Surviving are his mother and father: Shakila and Henry Alva; brother: Suraj Alva and sister Evangeline Alva of Lakewood, California.
